This is not strictly speaking about tech but this does connect to the issues that occur also in tech. She speaks about the business case for gender equality. She speaks about the silicon valley notion of “meritocracy” @ about 6 minutes. She disputes this with some blind studies that show the same skills set will be seen as more valid if the name on the CV is male. Then another where a powerpoint narrated for venture capitalists it is pitched by a woman’s voice, the same pitch is made by a man’s voice. You guessed it, discrimination the likelihood of investing (same content) male voice 68.3% vs female voice 31.7%. It is an excellent talk.
